Announced back in March and originally planned to launch in the Spring, the long-awaited crossover between Minecraft and Dungeons & Dragons has been released. Explore the lands of D&D visiting familiar locations and places such as Icewind Dale and Candlekeep. Fight monsters and enemies, choose your class, and role dice to overcome different challenges.
The launch of this DLC was a little unexpected. The months following the reveal had little information about an exact release date. Then we had a spring and summer of complete silence where fans began to wonder if the DLC would ever release. Finally, in September we had the official launch.
What to Expect
You will start your adventure by selecting your class. Cast spells as a Wizard from a distance. Smash through enemies as a Barbarian or sneak around as a Rogue. Give your allies the healing boost they need while also dealing some damage as the Paladin. Once you choose your class you are given the opportunity to use the stats given to you or customize them to your playstyle. After you’re done building your character you are able to jump right in and start the adventure before you. Expect to encounter many characters, friend or foe, that are fully voiced and interactable with ability checks.
How To Play
The Minecraft and Dungeons and Dragons crossover is only available for Bedrock PC and Xbox users to purchase through the Minecraft Marketplace for 1510 Minecoins or 9.99USD. To play, purchase the DLC, download the world and hop in.
For those hoping to play on PlayStation or Switch, don’t worry there is a way. To do this you will need to own Minecraft Bedrock for PC or Xbox and have realms access. When you purchase the DLC on either PC or Xbox, you can set the world to a realm and you can either play or download the world on your PlayStation or Switch.
