Gen V, the hit spinoff series of Amazon Prime’s superhero show The Boys, has been renewed for Season 2 midway through the series’ first season.
The show, which was developed by Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg and Eric Kripke, is a college-aged spinoff of Kripke’s first show, The Boys, which follows what happens when superheroes aren’t all that good after all, and the eponymous Boys, a group of vigilantes who seek to oppose them.
“We couldn’t be happier to make a second season of ‘Gen V,'” said Kripke and showrunner Michele Fazekas. “These are characters and stories we’ve grown to love, and we are thrilled to know people feel the same!”
Gen V runs concurrently with what will be The Boys season 4 and follows the lives of young-adult superheroes as they battle through challenges at the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, founded by Vought International.
“Expanding the universe of ‘The Boys’ with a series as bold as ‘Gen V’ has been an incredible journey for us and our wonderful partners at Sony,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios in a statement acquired by Variety.
Gen V is the third series entry in the hit tv universe of The Boys, which is itself an adaptation of the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
The series stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizzie Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh and Asa Germann as currently has an approval rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes with an average rating of 7.5/10.
You can catch new episodes of Gen V’s first season exclusively on Amazon Prime every Friday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT for U.S. subscribers.
