Fortnite Announces Its Turning Back Time to Chapter 1

While it had been rumored for quite some time, it’s been officially confirmed that the next season of Fortnite will be taking us back to Chapter 1, according to a post on X from Fortnite’s official account.

The Lead Up

Before the official confirmation it was just rumors that Chapter 1 would return. Leading up, Epic Games was sharing hints with the public. The hints came in the form of a box with collectibles inside and a video that played when opened. The videos were clips from the early days of Fortnite and some were streamers first time playing the game.

These boxes weren’t the only teases that Epic showed off. Streamers DrLupo and CourageJD both received large props on their backyards. Courage found a sign from Frenzy Fields and DrLupo had the Dusty Diner coffee cup.

This isn’t the first time we saw Fortnite crossover into the real world either. All the way back in 2018, to tease the release of Season 5, objects from Fortnite were appearing around the world.

What to Expect

Based on leaks, it is rumored that the Season 5 version of the Chapter 1 map is the one that’s returning. This map featured the additions of Paradise Palms, Lazy Links and the Viking village. We could also possibly see the return of weapons from Chapter 1, including the original Fortnite SCAR and Pump Shotgun.

Alongside the old features, returning newer features released in recent Chapters will be available. The Sprinting and Mantling mechanics will be staying and Zero Build will remain as a game mode. Who else is terrified of the memories of the OG John Wick skin cranking 90s after firing one bullet at them.

When Does it Come Out?

Fortnite has tweeted that in one week on November 3 Chapter 1 will return. Will you be prepping your plans with your squad or fly in solo to dominate in Tilted Towers. Will you be exploring to relive the experiences you had all the way back in 2018?

If you are looking for more official announcements about Chapter 1’s return you can find Fortnite’s X page here. We will also be covering Fortnite news here at PressPlay as it releases. Before you go, remember to thank your bus driver and always ask your teammates, where we dropping?
