10 Rom Coms You Can Stream Right Now For Valentine’s Day

February is shaping up to be a strong month for streaming films. Many of the new releases from late in 2024 are starting to head to digital, and even more films are doing the ceremonial shuffling around of which service they reside on. In addition, it’s the month of love, an many streaming services have already started to add some classic rom coms to their library. Let’s take a look at 10 fun rom coms you can watch this month on all of your favorite streaming services.

Crazy, Stupid, Love is the first of multiple films to star Emma Stone on this list. Including a star-studded cast with the likes of Ryan Gosling, Stone, Steve Carrell, Julianne Moore and Marissa Tomei, Crazy, Stupid, Love is a unique combination of a rom com and an anti-rom com. It tells the dual stories of Cal Weaver (Carell), a middle-aged man going through a rough divorce, and Jacob Palmer (Gosling), a young bachelor who tries to help get Cal back into the single life. The film features one of the craziest twists in a rom-com, and you can see it now on Hulu.

You’ve Got Mail is one of the most iconic films in Meg Ryan’s even more iconic rom com filmography, and one of a few collaborations she had with Tom Hanks in the 90’s. The film follows an independent bookseller (Ryan) who can’t stand her new corporate bookstore owner across the street (Hanks). That is, until the two anonymously meet online and start a whirlwind romance with each other. You’ve Got Mail is streaming now on Hulu.

We Live in Time was one of 2024’s most emotional and well-acted films. Starring Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield as a married couple dealing with a cancer diagnosis in the family and the struggles their relationship goes through, it heartbreakingly and convincingly portrays a life many have to deal with. On February 7th, We Live in Time will be arriving on Max for subscribers to watch.

Easy A also stars Emma Stone, this time as a clean cut high school student named Olive who transforms her boring weekend into a big lie about losing her virginity. Olive quickly becomes the talk of the school as more and more people hear about the lie that shouldn’t have existed. It’s Emma Stone at arguably her comedic best. Easy A can be found now on Tubi for free or on Hulu.

How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days is one of the most well-known rom coms from the early 2000’s Matthew McConaughey era. In it, Kate Hudson stars as a women’s magazine writer who embarks on a project to get a guy (McConaughey) to date and then dump her, all in the span of 10 days. It’s a classic with good vibes that works any time of year, but especially around Valentine’s Day. Plus, Kate Hudson in that dress may be one of the most iconic looks in movie history. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is available to watch now on Peacock and Paramount+.

When Harry Met Sally may just be the greatest rom com every made. Starring Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan as two strangers who come in and out of each other’s lives over the course of 12 years. It’s arguably Meg Ryan at her most iconic, and the writing feels relatable even to this day. When Harry Met Sally asks the question “Can a man and a woman just be friends?” and then leaves the audience to watch as Crystal and Ryan’s immense chemistry answers that question in multiple ways. You can watch this one today on Paramount+.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith not only features an incredible romance on screen but also sparked one of the most notable romances off it. Starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as a dull married couple who each live a secret life as assassins-without the other even knowing about it. It’s an explosive action rom com that you don’t usually see in the space. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is available to watch on Tubi, Disney+ and Hulu.

50 First Dates was Adam Sandler arguably at his peak. By this point, he had already released iconic films like Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, Anger Management, The Wedding Singer and he had taken a dramatic turn in Punch-Drunk Love. But what was missing from his filmography was a classic rom com. Here, he stars opposite Drew Barrymore as a man who falls in love with a woman who has severe short term memory loss – she can’t remember anything that happened the day before. Sandler has to make her fall in love with him every day, thus the title 50 First Dates. This film is available to watch on Amazon Prime.

Knocked Up is an unlikely comedic hit from the mid 2000’s era of mid-budget comedies. Starring Katherine Heigl in the midst of her superstar run on Grey’s Anatomy and budding comedy superstar Seth Rogen, Knocked Up follows an unlikely couple that, after a one night stand, find out they’re having a child together. It’s chaotic and funny but also heartwarming, plus it was film that brought audiences Ken Jeong. You can watch this one today on Amazon Prime.

Bonus Pick

While it’s not a rom com, The Nice Guys is a great buddy comedy that deserves recognition. Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe star as two down on their luck detectives investigating the death of a porn star and the disappearance of a girl. Since its release in 2016, it has been widely renowned as one of the best comedies of the decade. The film has since garnered a cult following, including from celebrities like Patton Oswalt. I have been watching movies my whole life and fell in love at an early age. I was entranced by the ability for a film to whisk me away to a different universe, and that really started with the Star Wars Franchise. I'm by no means an expert and can roll with opinions that might be controversial, but that's the beauty of a film; we can all see the same thing on screen, but each of us may come away with a different interpretation of what we saw. When I'm not watching movies, I work in Marketing with my degree from Western New England University. MY FAVORITE MOVIES: Good Will Hunting, Star Wars: A New Hope (or the whole saga), La La Land, Before Sunrise, Ocean's 11, and so many more...
